How much does a business website cost in 2026? Anywhere from a few dozen euros a month for a site you build yourself to more than €10,000 for an agency project. In Algeria the spread is similar, in dinars. Rather than a single figure, here are the typical ranges, what explains them and how to compare quotes that sometimes have nothing in common.
Business website cost in France: market price ranges
- Online website builders (Wix, Squarespace, Hostinger…): roughly €10 to €40 a month. You do everything yourself, and the site stays tied to the platform: if you leave, you often start again from scratch.
- Freelancer: usually between €800 and €3,000 excl. VAT for a 3 to 8-page site, depending on experience and what is included.
- Web agency: generally €3,000 to €10,000 excl. VAT, and more for a highly polished design, copywriting, photography and a dedicated project manager.
These figures are orders of magnitude, not official rates: they vary with the region, the provider’s specialism and, above all, what the quote actually covers.
What about Algeria?
The Algerian market is more uneven. Entry-level offers start at a few tens of thousands of dinars, often built on a ready-made template. Experienced freelancers and small agencies frequently charge between 50,000 and 200,000 DZD for a complete business website, and established agencies more. Be wary of very low prices: hosting locked in with the provider, a site that cannot be moved, no administrator access or text copied from another website are all common practices.
Per-page pricing: a simple way to compare
The number of pages is the main cost driver of a business website. A home page, a services page and a contact page do not take the same work as a ten-page site with one page per service. That is why I charge per page: €190 excl. VAT per page in France, 15,000 DZD in Algeria, with a minimum of 3 pages. Each page includes the design, mobile adaptation and basic SEO.
- 3 pages (home, services, contact): €570 excl. VAT, or 45,000 DZD.
- 5 pages (home, about, services, portfolio, contact): €950 excl. VAT, or 75,000 DZD.
- 8 pages (one page per service): €1,520 excl. VAT, or 120,000 DZD.
What drives the price of a business website
- Design: a lightly adapted off-the-shelf theme costs less than a mock-up designed in your colours.
- Copywriting: often the forgotten item, and the one that delays projects the most.
- Languages: a French and Arabic site needs a right-to-left layout and a proper translation, not just an automatic tool.
- Features: online booking, a filterable catalogue, a customer area or online quotes go beyond a simple business website.
- SEO: the technical basics (titles, descriptions, speed, sitemap) should be included; a content strategy is a separate job.
- Deadlines: a rush project ties up more resources.
Domain name and hosting: the costs to add
Most advertised prices, mine included, exclude the domain name and hosting. Allow around €50 a year in France for a decent plan, and 6,000 to 12,000 DZD a year in Algeria depending on the host. Always register them in your own name: it is your guarantee that the website remains yours. Also ask about recurring costs: some providers require a monthly maintenance subscription. I do not offer one: I step in on demand, when you need it.
How to compare two website quotes
- Check the number of pages and what each one contains.
- Ask who writes the copy and who supplies the photos.
- Make sure you get administrator access and can switch providers.
- Confirm that mobile adaptation, speed and basic SEO are included.
- In France, check that a legal notice and a GDPR-compliant privacy page are provided.
- Add up the recurring costs over three years, not just the upfront price.
Want the exact price of your website? The business website page calculates it from the number of pages, in euros or dinars. For a more specific project, describe it on the quote page and I will reply with a costed proposal.
